At J.P. Morgan, technology is core to our organisation and we are committed to encouraging more young people to consider a career in technology. We are pleased to support these awards which showcase the female talent we have here in Scotland and highlight the importance of continuing to increase the participation of women in digital technology. J.P. Morgan’s technology presence in Scotland has grown substantially over the past decade and the importance of having a vibrant and diverse workforce should never be underestimated.
J.P. Morgan’s leadership in the United Kingdom extends back to the middle of the nineteenth century. Today, the firm has offices in London, Bournemouth, Glasgow and Edinburgh — with London serving as the headquarters of the EMEA region. The European Technology Centre, based in Glasgow, is one of the largest technology employers in Scotland, with Edinburgh as the center for the Investor Services business.
We are committed to helping businesses, markets and communities grow and develop in more than 100 countries. Employees are our greatest asset, and we strive to attract talent from the broadest pool to foster innovation, creativity and productivity. Creating a diverse and inclusive environment is critical to our success, and we are deeply committed to hiring and retaining employees from different backgrounds, experiences and locations. Diversity brings together people with unique perspectives, and inclusion creates opportunities for all individuals to contribute and work together to achieve success as a whole. Our diverse workforce helps our customers and business partners achieve their business goals. By recruiting the highest quality people who reflect the customers and communities that we serve, we increase our ability to deliver the best possible solutions.
We have a number of initiatives aimed at attracting and supporting female talent throughout all stages of their careers. For example we offer Tech Connect, a program designed to attract the next generation of technology specialists, specifically to encourage more women to choose technology careers and the J.P. Morgan ReEntry program for experienced hires, aimed at individuals who have taken a voluntarily career break and have prior experience or interest in financial services, and wish to return to the workforce full time after an absence of two or more years.
